Aussie Curves: Fears Exposed

For the Aussie Curves theme "Fears Exposed" I finally wore my red ASOS swing dress! There's something that makes me feel uncomfortable wearing red, or bright colours in general. Part of me doesn't like being noticed and I guess it's hard to fade into the background in bright red.

Food Court Dinner

I got this kimono cardi from ASOS the other day and I've been wearing it with everything! It is super comfy and drapey. It's size 18 from the tall line - I'm 5'9 so I can always use more length. The button down is something I diyed the other day - I took the whole thing apart to make it sleeveless and cropped. It is complete with bust darts to eliminate any armhole gape and the perfect length to wear over high waists!

I have been a busy, busy bee and have not been posting as much as I would like to... To get back into the swing of things I thought I'd share my recent purchases. They are all from ASOS but a couple are thrifted.

No Heroes

Today I scored these 90's Windsor Smith shoes ahhh! I know they are totally ugly, but in the best way possible - right? They are very similar to another pair of Windsor Smiths I thrifted a while ago and sadly have almost worn out. They are in one of my earlier outfit posts and are cherry red lace-ups. They are kinda like docs but with a chunkier sole which I love. My hot tip is that if your feet are a UK7 or bigger always check the men's shoes when you're thrifting - most if not all of the shoes will be gross but you will get lucky one day, I promise! I also found an ASOS Curve peplum top which is real cute but the smallest size 26 I've ever seen, no wonder it was in the thrift store!

I scored this skirt thrifting today and couldn't wait to make an outfit with it. This outfit is almost entirely thrifted and cost less than $25 - not including the shoes but they were $30 on sale!

New Boots

I've been after the pair of black ankle boots for some time now and today I spotted "ASOS ARCHER Leather Ankle Boots" for $22 down from $108... Now I'm not 100% sure that these are the perfect pair of my dreams - actually they definitely aren't - "Dr. Martens Women's Kensington Flora Leather Chelsea Boots" are the dream but they are waaay out of my price range right now.

 Here's hoping the ASOS boots fit because they're on the way to me and I already have a few outfits in mind! Another piece I've been after is a black vest and Dream Diva have one that I just can't get outta my head...

I think it would work well with a dark tee and some dark jeans like these ones from ASOS:
